For referrals from non-Respiratory wards e.g. a request for advice or clinical review, please email us (the email address is on Rotawatch)
The email service is primarily staffed by Respiratory Consultants 9-5pm Mon-Friday.
We prefer email, because it means we can see patients without the distraction of a pager, and we get higher quality clinical information from the referrer. We can also audit what we / you do and find many enquiries can be dealt with by email alone.
Of course, page us if your patient needs seen immediately in a clinical emergency e.g. requiring non-invasive ventilation or rapidly deteriorating (pager number is on Rotawatch).
